Liverpool have medicals underway for Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi ahead of tonight's 7pm transfer deadline
Liverpool inch closer to the transfer deadline with two big deals still in the works. Both Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi are undergoing medicals ahead of respective moves from Newcastle United and Crystal Palace.
As the ECHO understands, over the weekend Liverpool have agreed a British-record £125m deal for Isak's transfer - the striker arrived at the AXA Training Centre on Monday morning for his medical. Since then, the Reds have settled a £35m deal for Guehi including a 10 per cent sell-on clause, so the central defender is also having a medical in London.
They are in a race against time with the window closing at 7:00pm. Well, almost.

By doing so a club can be afforded additional time to get a deadline day transfer over the line. However, there are rules that they must satisfy in order to make sure a deal sheet is successfully recognised. The ECHO explains how this important document can come to Liverpool's aid on Monday night.
When is the transfer deadline?
The 2025 summer transfer window closes at 7pm on Monday, September 1. It first opened on June 1 before closing again on June 10 ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, then reopened again on June 16.
The deadline has also been moved slightly earlier this year and is now scheduled at 7pm, whereas before it was previously 11pm.
What is a deal sheet?
A transfer deal sheet is a document that allows clubs to officially confirm that a transfer agreement has been reached before the transfer deadline passes. Once it has been filled out, that club is then given an extra two hours after the deadline to seal a transfer.
They were introduced into the Premier League in 2008 due to a number of transfers collapsing due to paperwork issues.
What are the rules?
If they need to apply for Isak, Guehi, or both cases, Liverpool would be given an extra two hours to ensure any additional paperwork is completed and ratified. That would give them until 9:00pm on Monday to complete their deals.
But they must be able to submit evidence that a deal has been agreed between the clubs involved ahead of the deadline.
This will not be an issue with £125m ready to be paid for Isak and £35m plus a 10 per cent sell-on clause for Guehi.
