Manchester United youngster Zachary Baumann has completed a permanent transfer to Norwich.

There is no fee involved, but the deal includes performance clauses to ensure profit from any future success of the teenager.

The Manchester Evening News exclusively revealed on Sunday that Baumann was set to join Norwich to kickstart his career. The youngster was keen to explore a move to a club with a clear first-team pathway.

Baumann has signed a two-year contract, with the option of another year. The 18-year-old will initially join up with Norwich's development squad.

Speaking to Norwich's club media, Baumann said: "I feel great, it's a brilliant feeling. I'm really excited for this new opportunity, this is a good place to come and play football.

"I'm a central midfielder, but I can play anywhere across the midfield. I like to get on the ball in tight situations and drive forward.

"I've also represented Ukraine at youth level. A great opportunity for me, a great group of players and definitely something I'm really proud of."

Baumann was born in Greater Manchester but is eligible to represent Ukraine's national team. He became a citizen of Ukraine in November and is expected to eventually pledge his international allegiance to the country where both of his parents were born.

Speaking to UNN, Baumann said last year: "I am very happy to have finally become a citizen of Ukraine and now I will be able to represent my country on the international stage.

"There is excitement, but it is positive because I feel the support of many people. I can't wait to meet the team. And forward to our victory. And not only on the football field."
